clean FREQUENTLY

stainless steel or not, you have to clean the bowls frequently to avoid 1) hard water stains, 2) filter clogs with hair/ food, 3) fungus growth.
The white oval filter is pretty good at catching stuff when the water recirculates back into the basin, but if it clogs the narrow opening, the water flow slows down. The black spongy filter around the internal pump is more likely to get clogged, and being under water tends to get slimy (gross!) . You can usually rinse either one with water and soap, and then reuse. The black filter is more porous and tears easy, so be careful. it also feels pretty loose around the pump itself, although that does not interfere with function so much.
The spout itself plus the basin lid are where the more hard water spots appear and are difficult to clean (even though our house has a water softener!) . I was disappointed to find small crevices on the piece that goes between the pump and the spout. You have to pull each piece apart separately to see all the areas where the black mold ( algae?) is actually hiding. I clean it with a dental floss brush [GUM SoftPicks] and a toothbrush, then use a vinegar soak.
The power cable has a USB-A end and is long enough to reach from the floor to a kitchen countertop, with a little length to spare. the pump is quiet enough itself that it isn't bothersome. The majority of the noise is from the water stream, and varies with the strength of the stream. When the water slows or is spurting out, I know we have forgotten to fill up the tank. The bowl is large enough to be refilled easily. We use a plastic 32-ounce cup from the gas station soda fountain. It's easier than unplugging the bowl and bringing it to the sink.
I would buy this brand again, but would be more diligent about cleaning the water spots and calcium buildup next time.

Love this fountain!

It's very quiet, I can barely hear it when its running. And it's big enough to hold enough water so I dont need to refill it quite as often. I also love that it lights up which makes it easier to see how much water is in it. My pets used it immediately also which is great! I have two cats and a dog and it can be tough getting the cats to drink enough water. Highly recommend for anybody looking for a good quality water fountain for their pets!

HUGE-SILENT and easy to clean!

Other reviews were not fibbing... THIS IS HUGE!! And so quiet! Stainless fountains are always better. The pieces remove easily for when you clean it. The T spout can be removed so it just bubbles. Bonus that it can be cleaned and sanitized in the dishwasher! Great to have for either big dogs or a multi pet household like mine! Everybody gets room to drink!

A Great Water Fountain for Pets

Our large cat family showed eagerness when the fountain was set up and thanks to the large size and dual spout it allowed 2 of our cats to drink at the same time. Easy to clean and to us more than adequate storage capacity but take note that you will have to use a outlet as this is a corded electric model. But you will be all set if like us, it's placed with the outlet nearby. Because our cats have enjoyed it, we have been changing and refilling it every 3 days so is great for hydration. Enjoying the quietness of the pump and would recommend this product without a doubt.

Good investment for animal water to be clean. Eat to clean and maintain.

Easy to clean, eat to use. Filter replacements are readily available and inexpensive so that your pets can drink clean water. Pump is quite until the water gets low and you will have no issues knowing it's time to fill it up.

In my case the dogs and our cat have been using this way more than before they really seem to enjoy the clean water and cats love drinking moving water straight from the tap.
